What Was Your Most Memorable Christmas Event?

At staff meeting today, we were asked to go around the table and tell about our most memorable Christmas event.   One of the pastors told of how his mom and dad got through a tough Christmas at their new parsonage.  Another pastor told about how they would exchange gifts and then go the beach.

Around my table, one of our members told the story about how she got her first Christmas gift, as a missionary child, when she was twelve.  Another fellow told us how his parents actually erected a barricade around the living room to keep them from opening their gifts early.  Still another told about how they would attend an annual Christmas mass at their church.

My story was not as fantastic as theirs yet just as memorable.  When I was around ten, Christmas came on the prayer meeting night.  My dad has regaled us with stories of Santa Claus and his reindeer mobile.  I found the story hard to believe and wondered why I never saw sleigh tracks in front of our house.  Well, we’d just walked in the house and my brother and I were standing in our bedroom.  Then it happened!   Dad yelled, “it’s Santa Claus!”  My brother and I jumped into our respective beds fully clothed!  It was not until Dad walked into our room that we crawled out of bed and put on our pajamas as he laughter uncontrollably.  I shall never forget that incident.

So much for our stories…I would like to hear some one of your memorable Christmas events.  Just leave a reply below and O yeah!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
